2025/2026 Scholarship Program

For the 2025/2026 school year, NuVista Federal Credit Union is offering three (3) scholarships of $1,200 each for students who are pursuing post-secondary education in a college, university, or technical school located in the United States.

Three Scholarships Available

Each scholarship is worth $1,200, totaling $3,600 in annual scholarship support.

Open to Members & Families

Available to graduating high school seniors who are NuVista members or live in member households.

Other Scholarships Allowed

Applicants receiving other scholarships are still eligible to win a NuVista Scholarship.

Post-Secondary Education

Scholarships support accredited colleges, universities, or technical schools in the United States.

Part of Our Community Commitment

NuVista's scholarship program is part of our broader commitment to education and youth development. In addition to these annual scholarships, we also award $8,600 total annually through our Financial Reality Fair program, supporting students across rural Western Colorado.

Eligibility Requirements

Graduating Senior

Must be graduating in spring 2026 and entering college, university, or technical school in fall 2026.

Member or Family

Must be a NuVista member or live in the same household as a member with accounts in good standing.

Other Scholarships OK

Applicants receiving other scholarships are still eligible to win a NuVista Scholarship.

Not Eligible

NuVista employees, officials, and immediate family members are NOT eligible to win awards.

Award Disbursements

The intended use for the NuVista Federal Credit Union Scholarship is tuition, books and/or other fees associated with enrollment into an accredited college, university, or technical school.

Important: The scholarship funds will be dispersed to the college of choice after documentation of enrollment is submitted to the credit union. Examples of documentation include:

  • A schedule from the school
  • Receipt of payment
  • Any other form of enrollment documentation

Notification

Scholarship winners will be notified no later than May 1, 2026. The Scholarship Committee's decisions are final, and the scholarships are non-transferable.

Publicity Agreement: NuVista Federal Credit Union reserves the right to use all applicants' names, photographs, and essays in promotional material.

If you are chosen for a NuVista Scholarship, you agree to submit a photograph to be used in publicizing the scholarship program.

Your current resume highlighting achievements and activities

Letter of Recommendation

One letter from a sibling/step-sibling or friend (minimum 150 words)

Essays

Include both essays in one document

Letter of Recommendation Details

Please include one letter of recommendation from a sibling/step-sibling or friend who has personal knowledge of you and can contribute a sense of your personality, achievements, moral stature, or attributes to tell the Committee why they think you should be awarded this scholarship.

The letter must be a minimum of 150 words.

Frequently Asked Questions

The scholarship is open to all high school seniors graduating in spring 2025 who will be entering an accredited college, university, or technical school in fall 2025. Applicants must be NuVista Credit Union members or live in the same household as a NuVista member with accounts in good standing. NuVista employees, officials, and immediate family members are NOT eligible.

You'll need to upload the following documents in PDF format: your transcript, resume, one letter of recommendation (minimum 150 words) from a sibling/step-sibling or friend, and both essays in one document. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed by the Committee.
