A credit union is a not for profit financial cooperative owned and operated by its members. The members pool their financial savings to provide themselves funds for loans and a wide variety of other financial services. Credit union cooperatives exist to serve their members. As not-for-profit institutions, they are unique in the financial world. They are owned and directed by their members and are dedicated to the credit motto: not for profit, not for charity, but for service. That is the key difference between credit unions and other financial institutions.

Yes. All accounts are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA, the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government.

The Montrose Drive-Thru is open Monday - Thursday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  

Our Gunnison Branch is open Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM 

Both locations offer ATM and Night Drop services.

ATMs also accept deposits.

Please remember, do not text and drive!

*CO-OP Network ATMs, 91989 is a surcharge-free service. But check with your mobile phone provider as standard text messaging rates apply. And don’t worry, you’ll never receive any unsolicited messages by using 91989.

If you ordered checks, they will typically arrive in 7 to 10 days. Checks can be reordered by stopping by NuVista, or calling the credit union.

If you are placing an order with a different company, you will need the routing number shown below and your Checking account number.  Please call the credit union to confirm the correct numbers prior to placing an order.

Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Montrose, Gunnison, Ouray and San Miguel counties. This includes immediate family members, both residing and not residing in your home or counties.

NuVista VISA debit and credit cards typically arrive in the mail 7 to 10 business days after the order is placed. 

Yes. Our online banking, Estatements and online billpay are all part of your membership. *Please note that online billpay is not available for Business Accounts.

No. Estatements are within the online banking system and can only be accessed there.

Every change that is made on your account has to be completed with your signature. Please call or come into the credit union for assistance.  (888) 261-7488.

If you are opening a personal membership you will need two forms of identification.  Your current state issued identification along with your social security card, credit card, insurance card, etc... 

If you are opening a youth account, a parent or guardian will need to be present and added to the account.  We will need two forms of identification for all parties involved.  Examples of accepted identification for the youth would be: Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, School ID, State Issued ID.  See above for the parent of guardian identification requirements.

If you are opening a business account: Two forms of identification will be needed for each signer (see above for examples), as well as the Tax ID Number (TIN) paperwork issued by the IRS, all business documentation (Articles of Incorporation/Organization, Certificate of Good Standing/Trade Name from the Secretary of State, and Operating Agreement  depending on type of business). Direct Deposit/Payroll Deduction is a free service that lets you have all or part of your paycheck or your entire Social Security, military retirement or pension check or other recurring payments sent directly to your NuVista account(s). It's also the easiest way to set up an automatic savings program or to repay a NuVista loan.

To begin Direct Deposit, stop by your Human Resource Office or payroll office and request a Direct Deposit Authorization Form. The following information will help you in filling out their form:

If you wish your Direct Deposit to go to your savings account, please list your account number as it appears on your statement (including zeros).

If you wish your Direct Deposit to go to your checking account, please list the check ID that is located on the center portion on the bottom of your checks.

To set up Direct Deposit of your Social Security check, call the Social Security office on their toll-free number, (800) 772-1213. They will ask for the account information provided above.
